Digital Accessibility in the 21st Century Workplace: the Imperative

Plenary Session, Oct. 2nd 3:45-5pm.

Digital Accessibility is one of the most pressing issues in the modern workplace – not only for your client base, but for your own employees. Are your internal websites and applications accessible to employees with disabilities? Can people with disabilities access your career portals and job sites? If you haven’t taken digital accessibility into consideration as part of your work environment, your employees and future employees with disabilities may be facing huge barriers to their ability to perform and succeed to their fullest ability, and you may be putting your company at risk for litigation.

Preety Kumar, CEO of Deque Systems, will be presenting a thorough introduction to digital accessibility in the workplace. Deque Systems is the leading company for digital accessibility software and services and was recently awarded the Computerworld 21st Century Achievement Award for Innovation for our groundbreaking Amaze technology. Preety’s session will cover an introduction to digital accessibility – including both web and mobile accessibility, the importance and benefits of digital accessibility as part of your HR and diversity plan, and how to remove obstacles in your workplace.

There will also be a very special prize drawing for: One (1) OfficeMax Laptop Overnighter from OfficeMax; One (1) The TJX Companies, Inc. Gift Set from The TJX Companies, Inc.; One (1) Gift Basket from Starbucks; and Round-trip airfare for Two (2) on Southwest Airlines from Southwest Airlines. These prizes can only be claimed at the plenary session, so you won’t want to miss it!
