Deque Systems Sponsors National Federation for the Blind Convention

Deque NewsDeque Systems is proud to be an Accessibility Champion sponsor of the 2014 National Federation of the Blind Convention, held in Orlando Florida from July 1-6. This will be the 74th annual convention for NFB, which is the oldest and largest organization of blind and low-vision people in the United States. At the convention, Deque will be promoting and teaching NFB attendees about  Fix the Web and brettapproved in support of greater accessibility for all.

The NFB convention will address key issues affecting those with visual disabilities, including job searching, self-defense, and access to technology. Technology seminars will address accessibility topics including Android accessibility, accessible desktop cloud computing, Ticketmaster, and tactile drawing.

Deque at NFB July 3rd

On July 3rd from 12:30-4:30 Deque will hold a breakout session (in Salons 1 and 2, level 2) teaching people about Fix the Web and brettapproved. Fix the Web is an innovative, volunteer-driven effort to remove barriers to digital inclusion using a collaborative and friendly approach. brettapproved is a travel and entertainment website for people with physical disabilities or anyone with a mobility challenge, that lets people with physical disabilities review and rate hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.
