Our Contributions to the Accessibility Community
The accessibility community was collectively struggling to agree on a common accessibility testing ruleset. We decided to make ours open source in 2015 and have since seen 900,000,000+ downloads as it’s made its way to becoming the standard of the industry. Coupled with a free browser extension, axe® is used by 275,000+ weekly active users, helping make the web a better and more accessible place for everyone.
Another area of importance for us is in helping drive global accessibility standards forward. Deque donates time from our top experts to contribute to WCAG standards working groups with the W3C.
In addition to our open source work, Deque offers accessibility course scholarships for people with disabilities on Deque University.
