Deque’s Vice President of Sales, APAC, Abin Roy Choudhury, was a featured speaker at the summit. In his session, “The Intersection of AI and Accessibility: A New Era for Digital Banking,” Abin emphasized that accessible banking should be a core value, not an afterthought. He highlighted that banking is a fundamental need for everyone, including People of Determination, and that digital platforms must reflect this by being inclusive by design.
Abin also addressed the common misconception that you can get compliant by using accessibility widgets as a quick fix. He pointed out that while widgets might seem like an easy answer, they often fail to make platforms genuinely accessible. “Widgets can create a false sense of compliance,” he said. “True accessibility requires embedding inclusive practices into the design, development, and testing processes from the ground up. It’s about building systems that work for everyone, not just applying a Band-Aid.”
