Accessibility Beyond Compliance: Using Gamification as a Motivator

At Hilton, our goal is to build an inclusive A11y mindset from within our agile delivery teams. Separating accessibility requirements from functional requirements, relying on checklists, or speaking the language of WCAG has proven ineffective at accomplishing our goal. Instead, we have turned to engaging teams using accessibility-themed games and activities as an effective learning tool allowing us to move beyond compliance to creating a truly usable, inclusive, and enjoyable end-to-end experience for our guests.
