Quickly determines if an Android app is accessible by people with disabilities
Herndon, VA – April 9, 2019 – Deque Systems, a leading accessibility software company specializing in digital equality, announces axe for Android, a free mobile app that analyzes any Android application to determine how accessible it is to people with disabilities.
Android developers and other stakeholders now have a solution that automatically assesses the usability of an application early in the development process, so common issues can be addressed before impacting users. People relying on assistive technology, such as Android TalkBack, often experience a range of difficulties when attempting to use Android apps developed without accessibility in mind.
Axe for Android is the newest addition to the axe family. Axe, well-known as a Chrome and Firefox extension for web accessibility testing, uses Deque’s industry-standard, open source rules libraries for Web, Android, iOS and Windows. Deque recently open-sourced its Windows accessibility rules library in conjunction with Microsoft.
