Senior Software Engineer, J2EE Design and Development
Services Project Manager
Experienced Senior Software Engineer with product development experience using the J2EE platform. The position will be responsible for product development and enhancement of Deque's leading Web Governance enterprise solution, Worldspace. Worldspace uses and offers an opportunity to work in innovative technology in the areas of multi-threading, memory management, I/O, and dynamic rule engines.
- Interact with executives to understand and prioritize features.
- Lead Product Design for developers and take technical ownership of large subsystems.
- Detailed Design, Implementation, and Unit Testing in a J2EE environment.
- Work with engineering team to review and tune performance.
- Solve and/or provide guidance to technical and performance issues as they arise.
- Minimum 6 years of proven experience in design, implementation, and maintenance of a large scale J2EE web application.
- Experience in J2EE, EJB's, JMS, Servlets, XML, JSP, Web Services.
- Experience working with multiple application servers including WebSphere and WebLogic.
- Experience in Application Server Deployment and tuning.
- Experience in JACL and ANT scripts.
- Experience in MQ Series.
- Experience in RDBMS database design and implementation —SQL Server and Oracle.
- Object Oriented design (UML) and programming skills.
- BS CS required, MS preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of inner workings of Application Servers essential.
- Would be an asset to have 2 years of HTML/DHTML.

TopThe Services Project Manager is a member of a 2-5 person team responsible for executing Professional Services around Deque products and Web Compliance/Governance Procedures.
- Contribute to the overall planning of a project by recommending approaches, identifying and developing likely resources and timelines, and reviewing and commenting on overall plans.
- Architect solutions to satisfy customers' business requirements.
- Provide plans for project teams and plan and organize the work for the team.
- Provide guidance to team members on managing the project scope and client expectations.
- Anticipate issues and impacts related to clients' business processes, future project directions, and provide alternatives on how to proceed.
- Seek and develop methods and procedures to improve the process of delivering solutions through professional, high-quality plans and practices.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to develop consulting and project methodology, techniques, tools, and solutions.
- Be well versed with an iterative software development life cycle.
- Develop project plan, functional requirements, quality requirements, architecture and design specifications, and test plans.
- 4-5 years application software implementation experience and expertise in applying technology to meet client needs.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- A thorough knowledge of generally accepted consulting best practices and demonstrated time management skills.
- Experience in Enterprise Web Site Management, Content Management, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, Style Sheets, Usability and GUI Design, Object Oriented Programming, Internet technologies, Protocols, Operating systems, SQL, Application servers, and Databases servers preferred.
- Business analysis expertise required.
- Experience in change management, business processes engineering, and quality assurance programs required.
- Excellent oral presentation and written communications skill.
- Experience with Documentum, Web Authoring tools— Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat format desirable.
- Experience with XML and related technologies.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply new technical standards and working knowledge of the Backus Naur Form (BNF).
- Bachelors or advanced degree or equivalent significant business experience in Project Management.
