Trudy is an Accessibility Consultant at Deque, coaching all client team roles in the web software development lifecycle toward self-sufficiency in digital accessibility. Trudy has multiple disabilities, which has influenced and helped drive her mission for making a difference for the disabled. She particularly has a passion to inspire others toward the value of inclusion. Trudy began her journey in digital accessibility work in 2002, when she trained all Monterey County departments in web accessibility requirements and techniques. Throughout her former career as Web developer, she continued to incorporate and evangelize for accessibility. Before coming aboard at Deque, Trudy was Lead Accessibility Engineer for a Fortune 500 e-commerce company, where she established, led, and managed company-wide accessibility initiatives, and trained department teams toward creative and technical accessibility solutions.
