Description

Accessibility is essential across many sectors, but few are as critical as the cultural world. Over recent years, access to cultural events has shifted almost entirely to digital environments, often without accessible alternatives. Purchasing tickets for a concert, a theatre performance, a museum visit, or a live event is now typically only possible through digital platforms, turning these interfaces into unavoidable gateways to culture.

For many users, this digitalisation introduces significant barriers. From selecting dates via online calendars to choosing seats, completing forms, and finalising payments, the ticket-purchasing journey can become complex or even impossible for people with disabilities when accessibility is not properly addressed.

In this talk, we will walk through the complete user journey of acquiring a ticket, identifying common accessibility barriers at each stage, and examining how they impact real users. We will also share how TOTHOM collaborates with companies such as Fever to break down these barriers and help ensure that culture and entertainment are truly accessible to everyone.
