Description

Animations that misbehave or never stop can trigger migraines, dizziness, or seizures in users with vestibular disorders, migraines, or epilepsy. This presentation introduces defensive animation design: a framework with five practical guardrails that ensure animations fail safely rather than spin out of control. By applying the same defensive thinking to motion that we apply to system security, designers and developers can build interfaces that protect vulnerable users when animations inevitably fail.
