Deque, a leading provider of web and mobile accessibility software and services, announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Northeast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP), a consortium that promotes strategic partnerships and advances innovation and leadership in educational institutions across the Northeastern United States.

This new strategic partnership will allow NERCOMP members to utilize the NERCOMP/Deque Systems Master Service Agreement, putting world-class accessibility testing tools, services and training within reach.

Accessibility is essential if all students are to participate fully in higher education. Eleven percent of all college and university students in the U.S. today have disabilities, which adds up to more than 2.25 million students.

“Understanding the needs of all students and building learning environments to support them is key for today’s society” said Preety Kumar, CEO of Deque Systems. “Deque is committed to providing the necessary tools and services to help remove any potential technological barriers for students with disabilities.”

“We are quite pleased to add Deque to our licensing portfolio,” added Karen Warren, Chair of NERCOMP.  “Our members are addressing accessibility needs in response to the increasing demands of their student populations.  Entering into this partnership has been very timely and will, I hope, help our member institutions to remediate these issues cost-effectively.”

NERCOMP members can pursue Section 508 compliance, WCAG 2.0 AA compliance, or work to meet OCR requirements utilizing these accessibility testing tools, annual license agreements and special EDU bundles made available at highly reduced rates.
