WordPress has just posted guidelines for Accessibility on WordPress.  They cover the basics – headings, alt text on images, descriptive links – as well as some good tips on creating a more readable page and a link to WordPress’s Accessibility Codex, which include more detailed guidelines for accessibility and other a11y resources.

WordPress is the most popular blogging site on the internet and, according to TechCrunch in 2011, powers 22% of new active websites in the US.  The new Accessibility section of their user manual brings great visibility web accessibility, and, hopefully, will help all the millions of WordPress users make their content accessible.
