Design is not just about making something pretty. Our craft can give our users powers and freedom they never knew they could have. But our design work can also promote harm, ignore user rights, and exclude many users entirely.

In this talk, Laura will explore the pitfalls of designing in the tech industry today, how we can design more accessibly, and how we can respect our users’ rights. She’ll walk through practical guidelines and personal and collective approaches we can use to design better for everyone.
