Photograph of Denis ThomasWhat do you do at Deque and how long have you been here?

I'm in sales for Deque and I've been here since Jan 16th.

How did you find Deque (or how did Deque find you)?

Deque found me through a recruiter - Ken Leiner - and I'm so thankful they did!

What is your favorite thing about working at Deque?

I love working with so many passionate people - people who are passionate about their jobs and the core values of Deque.

What interests you about accessibility?

I had never heard of it before my interview - but now that I'm right in the middle of the industry, what I like most right now is just how many people don't know about it. So a lot of my job ends up being education.

What current topic/debate in accessibility that has caught your eye?

Coming from the ABA conference, a lot of folks were asking if it were really necessary for them to make their sites accessible. These were all bankers in their risk and compliance office. It was as if they had no idea that it was a risk. Last week, I was in an Apple store and a genius asked me if I thought that unaccessible websites was actually discrimination.
