Deque is now the official accessibility partner for jQuery, a feature-rich JavaScript library which offers developers a fast and versatile way to create dynamic web pages. The goal of this partnership is to equip jQuery developers and contributors with the necessary knowledge and tools to create code that is accessible for all people, regardless of ability.

Resources for jQuery Developers

As part of this ongoing partnership, Deque accessibility experts will be presenting a series of blog posts to help jQuery developers improve the accessibility of their code. First up in the series, Dylan Barrell explains how to create responsive data tables with jQuery. This post features the a11yfy jQuery plugin, which uses JavaScript to apply responsiveness to an existing table and creates the CSS automatically.

Next up in the series, Chris McMeeking explains how to create an accessible datepicker using jQuery. Check out the post for some great tips on how to use the jQuery UI datepicker so that it works well with keyboards and screen readers.
