Alliance Delivers Valuable Integration for Customers in Web Accessibility and Section 508 Compliance Testing

FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Deque Systems, a pioneer in Web- based accessibility solutions, today announced the immediate availability of an integration with Mercury Interactive's TestDirector®, global test management software for organizing and managing the testing process, as a part of its flagship product, RAMP™. RAMP, a ground-breaking Section 508 and accessibility evaluation and repair tool, helps enterprises reduce time, resources, and costs associated with testing Websites and Web applications for all accessibility related issues. Customers can easily create a RAMP Test Plan from TestDirector and execute the test from within TestDirector's Test Lab, track defects based on the test results, fix the accessibility violations without any HTML coding, and update the results in the Test Plan. The integration was designed to provide users with a seamless experience between the leading accessibility and leading global test management solutions, ensuring customer control over defect tracking and management and report creation at all times.

"This alliance will enable RAMP users to easily integrate accessibility into their software development life cycle rather than treat it as an afterthought," said Preety Kumar, Deque Systems Inc.'s Vice President and CTO. "For our customers, the integration with TestDirector will make a good tool even better."

As a result of the integration, users can significantly reduce the manual effort of testing Websites and applications for accessibility or Section 508 compliance, an approach that brings Web accessibility into the fold of normal software development processes, automatically making the necessary changes to the code, and tracking all progress.

"Deque Systems adds tremendous value to customers who need to ensure that their Web-based applications meet accessibility standards," said Jim Hare, director of technology alliances, at Mercury Interactive. "The combination of Deque's RAMP solution and TestDirector provides organizations with a simple, and effective way to manage accessibility testing within their quality assurance environments."

The RAMP product has an intuitive Java-based graphical user interface that is used to analyze Section 508 and accessibility problems in Websites and applications. RAMP is also used to remediate the problems discovered during analysis, to produce Section 508 compliant/accessible content. Once the remediation is completed, RAMP outputs the remediated code, which can then be functionally tested with assistive technology, and deployed into production.
