Need a roadmap to web accessibility?

Deque Web Accessibility Needs Assessment Service is designed to help you reduce the risk and better understand the barriers on your website or web application for people with disabilities.

This is a fixed-price service that provides you with the ability to create a plan to make your website accessible and mitigate the risk of non-compliance with Section 508 or ADA. Over the last decade, Deque experts have helped hundreds of organizations set and achieve their web-accessibility goals. Our insights can help you determine the most cost-effective path to an accessible web presence.

Benefits

For a predetermined and affordable price you get the information you need to get your remediation project approved. You can count on us to give you information you can rely upon because:

  • Our Track Record – We have been helping US Federal Agencies, companies that do business with them and the top global corporations comply with section 508, WCAG or other standards since 2001. We have provided web accessibility assessment and/or remediation for hundreds of web sites and applications.
  • Our Technology – We use our automated accessibility checking software, Worldspace, to do a more detailed assessment for the price than you can get from anyone.
  • Our People – In addition to the automated scan our staff of accessibility experts will look at your application and draw on their experience to make pragmatic recommendations. Unlike some assessments, which simply parrot the rules, our experts recommend a cost-effective path to regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Our Guarantee – Finally, our expertise with multiple agencies and their procurement standards allows us to recommend changes that are guaranteed to be acceptable to all agencies.

Deliverables

  1. Identification of the essential functions on your website to select the top 20 pages to be evaluated for accessibility.
  2. Identification of the top 3 most common issues on the evaluated pages and recommendations for how to fix them.
  3. Prioritization based on the cost to address the issues versus barriers to usability for people with disabilities.
  4. Estimation of the percentage of pages that require at least one fix (extent of the problem) and average number of fixes required per page (intensity of the problem).
  5. An executive presentation of the findings and recommendations, including a demonstration of barriers to accessibility for people with disabilities.

Our customers have used these deliverables to develop reliable estimates of the scope, effort and cost of a remediation project. Note, these deliverables are not meant to be a comprehensive assessment of your application. Once this initial needs assessment is completed we will be able to provide you with a proposal for a complete accessibility audit, remediation and sustainability project.
