Welcome to the Deque Systems  Worldspace Overview.  
This overview will demonstrate some of the core functionality of Worldspace.

To log into Worldspace a user provides their Account number Username and password.  
The account number represents specific organizations on Worldspace. 
This allows for separation of responsibilities on your site by organizations, groups or departments.  

When a user first logs into Worldspace they are presented the score card.  The scorecard 
allows the user to quickly see for the collections that they are responsible for their status.  

Worldspace allows for the separation of sites by a collection.  
A collection can be an entire website or a sub section of a site, or specific urls.  

As you can see for my demonstration I have two collections.  Deque Test, and Mars Test Site 
For each collection Worldspace will report the status in each practice that was used 
during the analysis.  

Worldspace has the following practices: Accessibility, PDF Accessibility, Privacy and 
Integrity, Quality, and Security.  For each collection Worldspace provides the analyzed date, 
files spidered and analyzed, and the url used.  

For the Deque test I have 109 potential violations or warnings, the site was 
analyzed June 12, 2008 with 113 files spidered and 84 analyzed.  The url analyzed was
www.deque.com For the mars test site there are 586 violations, and 109 potential violations,
there are 41 privacy errors, and 19 warnings.   There are 310 Quality Errors and 2 warnings.  

Worldspace has the ability to do collections that are persistent.  For these collections 
provides trending, sharing of this information between different groups mangers, and developers.  
Allows them to work in conjunction to fix the issues on your site.  Worldspace also allows 
for simple one time file, pdf, and site scans.  One of the easiest ways to understand 

Worldspace's analysis process is to perform a site scans Here I navigate to the Analyze site.  
Enter my url: http://www.deque.com/mars/marshome.htm Select my preferences for Crawling level,  
Level 0 Selected.  This is simply how many link levels from the starting URL do you want to scan.  
You can select to restrict spidering to directories under the specified url.  
If you choose accessibility as one of your practices you would like to analyze a site for
You have the accessibility options for Section 508, Web Content Accessibility 
Guidelines - Level A, Level Double A and Triple A 

For this demonstration I will choose section 508.  You can also determine if you want to 
analyze pdf files, analyze for privacy and integrity, quality and security.  For this 
demonstration I will choose only accessibility.  Worldspace then goes to the url 
specified, analyzes the content, and provides the report.  The report is going to 
show us the Extent, Intensity and Nature of our issues.  The Extent is the number of 
pages with violations, The intensity is the average number of violations per page, 
and The nature is the number of violations for each practice used in analysis.  

You can drill down into the different violation you have to expose accessibility summary.  
The accessibility summary shows you for each para section of section 508 the summary.  
Shows me we have on this page non-textual elements missing text equivalents Shows me 
we have a problem with the documents not being readable without style sheets We also 
have potential violations like multimedia content missing synchronized captions, 
information being conveyed by color alone.  I can then drill down further into the 
developer report.  This report outline page by page, violation by violation all of 
the issues detected.  The user is presented with the error or warning message, the 
source code where the issue is and the line number of the issue.  For users who are 
not an accessibility expert Worldspace also displays the help for the specific issues at the bottom of the report.
